I have just launched my Arctic Tern Lady of Dragodan.
She is a standard two masted yawl with decks for and aft as detailed in Iain O's plans and I am delighted with her. I have a lot to learn to get the best out of the yawl rig which is unfamiliar to me but I a looking forward to it.
Brief history of the build, I decided on the boat in early 2012 and bought the plans. I was based in Kosovo so had to import most of the specialised items: plywood, epoxy fixings paint etc. Hull building began in July 2012 and continued until December when the family moved from Kosovo to Holland and then Malta. After a six month gap due to the move the build was completed in Holland in June 2013 and then the boat was driven to Malta on a trailer at the end of August. First tentative sailing expeditions started in September.
More details of the building process and photographs can be seen under the thread 'Arctic Tern with a Jordan Kit' on the Other Oughtred designs page.
